NEW Patient Policies (Effective January 2016)
CANCELLATION/ NO SHOW POLICY
1. Cancellation/No Show Policy for Doctor Appointment
We understand that there are times when you must miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations for work or family. However, when you do not call to cancel an appointment, you may be prevenging another patient from getting much needed treatment. Conversely, the situation may arise where another patient fails to cancel and we are unable to schedule you for a visit, due to a seemingly “full” appointment schedule. Cancelled appointments/ no shows are a major financial burden for this and every medical practice and cannot be tolerated. If an appointment is not cancelled at least (3) business days in advance, you will be charged a fifty dollar ($50) fee; this will not be covered by your insurance company. Chronic cancellations/no shows will result in the patient being discharged from the practice.
2. Scheduled Appointments
We understand that delays can happen, however, we must try to keep other patients and physicians on time. If a patient is 15 minutes or more past their scheduled time, we reserve the right to reschedule the appointment to another day or move the appointment to a later time slot on the same day if the doctor’s schedule allows.
3.Cancellation/ No Show Policy for Surgery
Due to the large block of time needed for surgery, last minute cancellations can cause problems and added expenses for the office. If surgery is not cancelled at least 10 days in advance, you will be charged a seventy-five dollar ($75) fee; this fee will not be covered by your insurance company.
4. Account Balances
We will require that patients with self-pay balances bring their account balance to zero ($0) prior to receiving further services by our practice. Patients who have questions about their bills, or who would like to discuss a payment plan option, may call and ask to speak with a business office representative with whom they can review their account.
OPTICAL REFUND POLICY
Here at Virginia Beach Eye Center, each pair of eyeglasses is custom made to order, and we are happy to service all of our products as well as guarantee their quality and workmanship.
VBEC provides a limited warranty that protects against manufacturing defects in
products associated with normal wearing conditions. Accidental breakage, abuse,
or loss is not covered by this warranty.
Warranties are only in effect for the duration offered by the manufacturer, and are not extendable, beginning at the time of the original order.
The customer must return the eyewear to Virginia Beach Eye Center within 60 days of receipt for a 50% refund of the purchase price, or a one-time 100% in store credit with proof of purchase. The 100% store credit will expire one (1) year from the date of issue.
Glasses returned after the 60 day warranty period will NOT be refunded in any amount. A full refund will not be offered because these are custom made eyeglasses for your prescription and other specifications, and it is not possible for them to be returned to the
The eyeglasses must be returned in the original hard case, and must be in “as new” condition, unscratched and unbroken with lenses in their original frames.
Doctor Changes and Non-Adapts:
Virginia Beach Eye Center will honor a one-time Rx change made by the doctor up to sixty (60) days following the original order. Subsequent changes will incur additional charges.
In the event that the customer does not adapt to a pair of prescription progressive eyeglasses within sixty (60) days, VBEC will remake the glasses (one time only) into a standard bifocal at no additional charge to the customer. No refund will be given for the price difference in materials.
Please note that warranties are available only as the manufacturer policies permit, VBEC does not have the ability to make exceptions or changes to manufacturer warranties.
